Learning by Doing
Relate is an investment company created by Swedish entrepreneur Joakim Naumburg. And as the name implies, it’s founded upon the idea that successful partnerships are based on committed investors who understand the business. In short: someone who can relate, to all the stages of growth and to the challenges and hard work of being an entrepreneur.
In 2005, at the age of 22, Joakim Naumburg became a founder of online fashion retailer Stayhard. Back then there were no social media, e-com platforms or smartphones, and the online market was still in its infancy. As a young company in a new sector, they constantly had to be creative in developing innovative solutions and finding new business opportunities – a tough but educational journey. And hard work pays off. During the coming decade,
without any investors, they grew profitably and became Sweden’s largest shopping destination for male fashion online. Together with other early e-pioneers, they helped pave the way for the Nordic e-commerce we see today. As a serial entrepreneur, Joakim has continued to build other successful companies. And to make good use of earned capital, experience and learnings, he later founded Relate Invest to support other companies.
Joakim has continued to influence the industry through different board assignments, like a seat at the Swedish Digital Commerce Association. Throughout his career he has gained recognition through several business awards like Entrepreneur of the Year in Västra Götaland,
Achievement of the Year, Nordic E-Commerce Award, Technical Solution of the Year, Retail Awards by Swedish Trade and Digital Gazelle of the Year by Dagens Industri/Google two years in a row. Relate Invest is a way for Joakim to share his experience and help young companies on their road to success.
